Hi Eileen! The system for Bank Sampah or Waste Bank can be very confusing to a beginner. Fret not, it's actually very simple once you understand the basics! The most important thing is to clean and separate your trash. Make sure you wash them and dry them before collecting them in a reusable bag, bin, or box. Please call and check your bank sampah to see if they will receive the items without a plastic bag.Once you've collected enough of your glass waste, you can go to the nearest waste bank where they will weigh your trash and add a value to it. It basically shows how much your trash weighs and its value in Rupiah (since waste banks will resell these items to factories). You will receive a Buku Tabungan or Saving Account Passbook and your trash deposit value will be documented there. Keep this book with you whenever you come back to deposit another round of trash. Since it's basically like saving up "money", once you've deposited enough trash, you can actually withdraw the money you've collected!P.S. Calling waste bank you want to go to is important, as sometimes they might not be open.
